Mission Statement
We, the people of First Presbyterian Church, know that we are called to be the church wherever God has placed us. We also know that Jesus did not call the world to go to the church, he said for the church to go to the world. Let us be about going to the world both near and far, remembering that God does not use us to get missions done - he uses missions to get us done.
A special Announcement:
Jim and Nancy Yuan, FPC members for over 30 years, are quietly going about the business of bringing young Asian men and women to Christ through their campus ministry, Kingdom Resources Center (KFC). Nancy and Jim and their team just returned from ministering on college campuses in Taiwan, sharing the Word and guiding young people into a relationship with God. Over the next two weeks, the Yuans, Rev. Tim Chau, Dr. Daniel Tai, and Dr. Samuel Wang will be leaving for Taiwan and China to continue their Kingdom work. They have asked for your prayers as they prepare for this pilgrimage.
The Yuans have been faithful servants and evangelists of young Asian college students on the campus of ODU for decades. It is easy to overlook the impact Jim and Nancy are making for Christ because of their quiet humility, but the Kingdom has been forever altered by their conviction to share God’s message of grace and redemption with younger generations from their homeland.
