In Their Words
"I really appreciate your follow up with me. Your emails and Jim’s current series of sermons have really touched me. I have always had faith in Jesus Christ but I never really gave much thought to my faith until Jim talked about absolute dependence. At that sermon, I admit a light bulb went off after all these years… that the problem was that I was trying to solve all my problems on my own. I will print out your prayer as a daily reminder. Thanks so much."
"We moved to Key West, but I haven't been successful in finding a church home that is as welcoming and genuine as FPC. Sienna and I watch online Sunday mornings, and I find myself watching old sermons throughout the week since I'm not working. Yesterday's message really touched me. When it was over I opened a notebook and attempted to answer the questions you asked. I haven't made many friends here and I miss my small group. FPC was my six. I found the strength I thought I lost there. Kristine, Jim G and Krista, Hunter, Mrs. Eunice, you, and a host of others welcomed us with open arms. I was that guy in the cubicle but instead of almost dying physically, I was dying spiritually. FPC saved me...saved us. Thank you." "
I hope all is well at First Pres. We are settling in pretty well...new city, new school, new job, new schedule...a lot of new. We have yet to find a church that even remotely compares to the family we had at First Pres. It was a family...a safe haven...a beacon of light in very difficult times. From the foundation of love & wisdom that was laid down for the girls in preschool to the daily strength in God we received from you and everyone...we miss our church...we miss our family..."
