Joanne holds both an undergraduate and graduate degree in music performance from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and Peabody Conservatory of Music respectively. She also has a level 1 certification in Orff Schulwerk and was a resident artist with the Virginia Opera in their 2001-2002 season. Joanne has worked with the children of our church since becoming a member in 2002. Joanne has and continues to teach music to young children in many capacities - she was the church preschool's music teacher for 6 years, she teaches music classes to preschool children through the Academy of Music, currently holds a position teaching music at the West Ghent School and has been the Director of Children's Music Ministries here at FPC since 2009. Joanne also sings as the soprano section leader in the chancel choir and owns and runs a cake decorating business in her spare time! Joanne lives in Norfolk with husband, Josh and 3-year-old son, Jonah.
