2013 FPC Budget
“We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift. For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of others.”
-2 Corinthians 8:20-21
First Presbyterian Church – Norfolk is committed to honoring God’s provision by exercising wise and faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and full accountability to ensure the financial integrity of First Presbyterian remains above reproach. Internal procedures have been established to evaluate all financial transactions. An annual review is performed by an independent Certified Public Accountant and anyone may request a copy of our most recently audited financial statements.
The budget is a moral document that helps give shape to the public work of the people. Like our personal finances, the FPC budget is shaped by the mission to which God has called our church. We establish the budget through a collaborative effort between the staff and the Session following our fall Stewardship Season. Our general operating budget for 2013 is $2,153,703.68. Our congregation has traditionally given to Outreach over-and-above what comes from our operating budget. In 2012, we collectively gave roughly $450,000 in addition to our operating budget offering. We hope for the same overwhelming generosity this year. The pie charts below illustrate how donations are utilized. We’ve broken them into two descriptions. The first chart communicates how much funding each ministry area requires. The second chart shows how much of the budget is overseen by which committee. Email Cline Reasor or call him directly at (757) 376-8765 to ask questions about our financial practices or to get more detailed information about our budget.
